Lectionary Lunch
Lectionary Lunch meets every Monday in the Fellowship Hall at noon for an hour. Any and all are invited. Bring a bag lunch and a Bible, as we discuss the previous day's worship service and read ahead the upcoming Sunday's (lectionary) texts that will be used in worship.
Lunch Bunch
Joining together for lunch and fellowship, all are invited on the third Friday of every month at 11:30 am to a different restaurant around the Summerville area.
Bible Studies
A variety of Bible Studies are offered throughout the year.
The Black Sheep
Each fall and spring, our co-ed Dorchester volleyball team (The Black Sheep) plays with other churches in the Summerville area. Our team has brought home the many trophies and are always looking to recruit new team members. GO BLACK SHEEP!
O.W.L.S.
The DPC OWLS (Older Wiser Livelier Seniors) is our 55+ group who plan outings and retreats for fellowship (food!), fun and service. Examples of outings include visiting the Edisto Memorial Rose Gardens in Orangeburg, a tour of Water Mission in Charleston, and a day trip to see the topiaries in Bishopville. The OWLS spend Memorial Day weekend together in Montreat, NC each year where they enjoy the mountain air as well as the annual Kirkin' of the Tartan service. Also planned are OWLS community service events within our community (i.e. Lowcountry Food Bank). Laughter and fun keep our OWLS young!
Church Campus Work Crews
Our facilities and grounds were built and are maintained by the members of the church. Monthly work crews meet for breakfast and work in small groups on maintenance and building projects.
